10:00 AM – Pickup from your hotel
Your cultural guide will meet you at your hotel and start the journey with a scenic drive (approx. 1 hour) to Pharping, located 20 km south of Kathmandu. This quiet Newari town is a revered pilgrimage site for Tibetan Buddhists.
Morning – Explore Pharping
Begin with a visit to the Asura Cave, where Guru Padmasambhava is believed to have meditated and attained enlightenment. Continue to the Vajra Yogini Temple, Gorakhnath Temple, and Sheshnarayan Temple, each offering a unique glimpse into Nepal’s spiritual mosaic.
Lunch Break – Local Restaurant in Pharping
Afternoon – Visit Dakshinkali Temple
After lunch, head to Dakshinkali Temple, one of the most powerful and sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Kali, the goddess of time, destruction, and transformation. On special days, Hindu devotees bring animal offerings (such as chickens or goats) to appease the goddess—a striking example of ancient ritual still alive today.
Mid-Afternoon – Stop at Taudaha Lake
On your return journey, enjoy a peaceful stop at Taudaha Lake, also known as the "Lake of Snakes." According to legend, it is the abode of the serpent deities, Nagas. The lake is a serene spot for birdwatching, especially during migration seasons.
Late Afternoon – Discover Chobhar Gorge & Caves
Your final destination is Chobhar, where you’ll visit the dramatic Chobhar Gorge, believed to have been created by Manjushri to drain the ancient lake that once filled the Kathmandu Valley. Explore the Chobhar Caves, among the largest in South Asia—an intriguing experience for adventure seekers and spiritual travelers alike.
Evening – Return to Kathmandu & Hotel Drop-off
Conclude your journey with a drive back to Kathmandu. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel after a culturally rich and spiritually uplifting day.
