Best Time to Visit Chitwan and Bardia for a Wildlife Safari in Nepal

Nepal’s Chitwan and Bardia National Parks offer exceptional wildlife experiences throughout the year, but the best time for a Wildlife Safari in Nepal depends on weather conditions, animal activity, and overall safari experience.

1. Best Season: Winter & Spring (October to April)

This is the ideal time to visit Chitwan and Bardia National Parks for a wildlife safari, with the best chances of spotting Royal Bengal Tigers, one-horned rhinoceroses, elephants, and diverse bird species.

  • September - December: Post-monsoon season with lush green forests and clear skies, perfect for jungle safaris.
  • January - February: Cool and dry weather makes wildlife sightings easier as animals gather around water sources.
  • March - May: Spring season brings warmer temperatures, and many animals are active, making it a great time for tiger tracking and birdwatching.

2. Monsoon Season (June to August) – Less Recommended
Sometimes heavy rains make trails muddy, and dense vegetation reduces visibility. However, this season is ideal for lush greenery, birdwatching, and fewer crowds.
